The mediating role of work ethics in the relationship of job enthusiasm with primary school teachers' innovative behavior

Abstract :
Received: Revised: Accepted: Abstract Introduction: The present study was conducted with the aim of explaining the mediating role of work ethics in the relationship between job enthusiasm and innovative behavior of primary school teachers in Shiraz. Methods: In terms of the research method, this research has been descriptive of the correlation type. The statistical population of the present study was all primary school teachers in Shiraz in the academic year 2022-2023, and the sample size was 172 people based on Cochran's formula and selected by stratified random sampling. In order to collect data in this research, the standard questionnaires of job enthusiasm by Helm, Deitch and Spence (1977), innovative behavior by Karamad (2010) and work ethics by Gary Gouri and Sipti (1990) were used. Pearson's correlation coefficient and structural equation model were used to analyze the data. Findings: The results of this research showed that there was a direct and significant relationship between job enthusiasm and work ethics of primary school teachers; Also, the results showed that there is a direct and meaningful relationship between job enthusiasm and innovative behavior of elementary school teachers in Shiraz; The results also showed that there is a direct and meaningful relationship between work ethic and innovative behavior of primary school teachers in Shiraz; In the end, it was concluded that job enthusiasm has a positive and significant indirect relationship through the mediation of their work ethic with innovative behavior in schools. Discussion and conclusion: Based on the findings, it can be concluded that job enthusiasm has a significant relationship with the innovative behavior of primary school teachers through the mediation of work ethics. Therefore, in order to strengthen the innovative behaviors of teachers, it is necessary to pay attention to the components of teachers' job enthusiasm and work ethics and invest in these variables in the process of empowering and improving teachers.
