Investigating the Factors Affecting Women's Participation in the Labor Market (Case study: the City of Mashhad)

Abstract :
The development of communication and information and the importance of employment in current age is not concealed to anyone. The rate of women participation in economic activities, especially in urban societies enjoys particular importance. This process creates opportunities and challenges for women as well as the economy of their countries. This research aims to analyze the factors affecting women's employment in Mashhad Labor Market. Therefore, some questionnaires have been prepared and distributed amongst 200 persons, and through the use of the sample size formula, 100 questionnaires were chosen. The gathered data were analyzed using logit regression method. After the data were analyzed, it was concluded that the families' economic status, education, household members, marital status as well as financial independence are among the factors effective on the rate of women's participation in Mashhad Labor Market.
