Abstract :
The aim of this study is to investigate the relationship between parental attachments with preschool children's attachment classification and to determine Whether there is a relation between the mother’s personality Traits such as depression, extroversion, flexibility, desirability and conscientiousness, and the children’s attachment classification. Method: This study is non experimental and retrospective and its statistical population consists of children (girl, boy) in Tabriz private and public kindergartens and their parents. Each group involves 48 child- parents in 5/6-11 age range. Children were selected from three areas: high, medium, and low social- economical status by controlling variables by author-made questionnaire with quota sampling. All parents completed Hazen and Shaver (1993) adult attachment questionnaire and all children completed Oslo et all (1998) separation anxiety test. Results: In order to investigate classification of abundance significance and number of children in every classification of attachment classifications according to parents (mother, father) attachment x2 nonparametric test was used. About mothers the results showed secure mothers are more probable to have secure children while insecure mothers have more chance of having insecure children but this finding was not verified by test.. Discussion: It can be said that in deed, the mother repeats the same maternal experience of her childhood in her child and it is proposed across generation transmission theory in attachment pattern
