Marital forgiveness is of the issues that greatly effects marital satisfaction and family strength. Therefore‚ the present study aims to investigate the relationship of life skills (empathy, effective communication, inter-personal relationship) and personality traits with marital forgiveness among the women in the city of Kermanshah. In order to carry out the study, the researchers selected a sample of 234 married women with 3 to 15 years of married life from among the married women in Kermanshah by using cluster sampling technique. For data collection‚ the life skills questionnaire, personality traits questionnaire (NEO)‚ and family forgiveness scale (FFS) were used. The research is of descriptive and correlation type. Descriptive statistical indices such as mean, standard deviation ‚ correlation and regression were used for data analysis. The results indicated that among the life skills under study, inter-personal relationships skill has a positive correlation with marital forgiveness‚ and among the five personality factors; psychotic factor has a negative correlation with marital forgiveness. The other factors didn’t show a significant correlation with marital forgiveness. Considering the study results , it could be concluded that inter-personal relations skill could enhance marital forgiveness in women, and the psychotic factor as a personality trait contributes to reducing marital forgiveness.
