The effectiveness of self-regulation couple therapy approach on reducing marital burnout of couples in exposed to divorce

Abstract :
The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of self-regulation couple therapy approach on reducing marital burnout in couples. The method of this study was a quasi-experimental type that has been implemented with pre-test-post-test design and follow-up with the control group .The statistical population of this study consisted of all Couples exposed to divorce who referred to Bahonar Branch Family Court in 1397. Sixteen couples (16 males, 16 females) were selected by convenience sampling and randomly divided into experimental (8 couples) and control (8 couples) groups. participants in the experimental and control groups responded to the couple burnout scale(CBM) in three stages of pre-test, post-test and follow-up. The experimental group received 8 sessions of self-regulation couple therapy training, but the control group received no intervention. The obtained data were analyzed with repeated measurement and LSD analysis. The results showed that self-regulation couple therapy is effective on reducing marital burnout and its components couples exposed to divorce(p < 0/05). Also, these results were stable in the follow-up stage. According to the obtained results, self-regulation couple therapy can be used to prevent divorce and reduce marital burnout.
