Abstract :
Congenital defects in the number of ribs is an uncomman event in cattles . In normal mode, there are eight pairs of sternal ribs and five pairs of floating ribs in total, with a total of 13 pairs of ribs.in dissection of fetus with 40 cm crown –rump length it observed.the fetus hade 13 ribs on the left and 12 ribs on the right side of thoracic cage. The right ribs are also narrower and hade wider intercostal space in comprsion with the left side for further evaluation, chest radiographs were taken radiogeraphic findings confirmed the gross anatomical finding and lack of the first in fetus was confirmed . ther was on abnormality detected in previously mentioned fetus.There is no other report about this anomaly untilyet.And it seems that above anomaly generally rare in cattle. Which in some cases can also be associated with spinal cord defects and sternum defects.
