Serologic study of Toxoplasma gondii infection in slaughtered sheep in Ilam abattoir by ELISA method

IN THE NAME OF GOD Toxoplasmosis is a mutual parasitic disease among human and warm- blooded animals. It caused seriouse in herent disease and abortion in intermediale hosts. The purpose of this study Determine the prevalence of toxoplasmosis in Ilam Province sheep,The correlation between age of sheep and toxoplasmosis rate also the relationship between gender and the prevalence of toxoplasmosis. The population of this study are slaughtered sheep in Ilam industrial slaughter- house. Blood samples were collected from 408 samples and examined and analyeed by ELISA method and anumber of 112(27/45%) Samples were positive. Also, it was determined that there is no meaningful relationship between age, gether and the background of abortion in parasitic hosts. High extent of contamination in sheep in this region to toxoplasmose parasite is of high importance in the view of public health
