Abstract :
In this study, out of 100 domestic dog collars and herds referred to the small animal clinic, of which 50 dogs were clinically healthy and 50 dogs showed symptoms of lethargy and shortness of breath, blood samples were taken from the cephalic vein, then below The microscope was checked for the presence of parasite microfilar, and the blood of 16 dog collars was recorded as a positive sample. Then blood levels of antioxidants catalase, superoxide desmutase and glutathione peroxidase were measured by special diagnostic kits. The results showed that the serum activity level of catalase, superoxide dismutase, glutathione peroxidase and total antioxidant capacity in the treatment group, which includes dogs with heartworm disease, compared to the control group, which includes Apparently healthy dogs show a statistically significant decrease in the incidence of this disease (P<0.05) and the amount of malondialdehyde in sick dogs shows a statistically significant increase compared to the control dogs. With the knowledge that the Dirofilaria immitis parasite lives in the host's heart, as a result, it leads to heart hypertrophy and the release of antioxidants. Proliferation in the filler form of the parasite can affect the liver and other organs and as a result cause damage to the cell membrane and organs and as a result of this damage can cause damage to the membrane and as a result oxidants affect the membrane so enzymes The antioxidant system is consumed and the amount decreases
