Abstract :
The aim of this study is to investigate the relationship between families’ social capital and academic achievement in female high school students in Tabriz, which is an applied and correlation study. The population included all female high school students in Tabriz (26860). Using Cochran formula Volume of the sample has been calculated as 380 students which its sampling method is stratified random sampling. A questionnaire used to collect data that is based on Likert scale. The results show that, there is a relationship between the social structure within and outside families, cognitive structure within and outside families with achievement success of female high school students in Tabriz. Also, there is a meaningful difference between families’ social capital based on the educational level of father, mother and field of study. Also, there is a meaningful difference between families of participants’academic achievement based on educational level of father, mother and field of study. Moreover the results of multiple regression analysis showed that, cognitive social capital within family has a major role in the academic success of students. This variable with explanatory power and influence (23 percent) and predictability (51 percent) placed in the first level of effectiveness.
