Abstract :
The purpose of this study was to predict marital satisfaction based on happiness and quality of life in couples in Tehran. The research design was descriptive-correlation. The statistical population of this study was all couples in 11th and 12th district of Tehran. 150 people (75 women and 75 men) used the available sample to answer three research questionnaires, including Oxford Happiness Questionnaire (2002), Quality of Life (1996) and Enrich Marital Satisfaction (1997) were selected. Descriptive and inferential statistics (Pearson test and stepwise regression) were used to analyze the data. The results of statistical analysis showed that happiness and quality of life can predict marital satisfaction (p <0.001). The results of regression showed that the linear relationship between marital satisfaction variable and predictor components was statistically significant (p <0.001). This means that happiness and quality of life are able to predict marital satisfaction of couples (p <0.001). Also, the results showed that the variables of quality of life and happiness, with the standard deviation of 0.26 and 0.15, can predict 6% of the variance of marital satisfaction variable. The variable of quality of life has a greater role Conclusion: Happiness and quality of life play an important role in predicting marital satisfaction. In fact, happiness and quality of life increase marital life skills and consequently marital satisfaction. Therefore, in designing programs based on increasing marital satisfaction, special attention should be paid to the happiness and quality of life of couples.
