Abstract :
The purpose of this research was to determine the effectiveness of acceptance and commitment therapy on marital satisfaction among depressive women in Isfahan. The research used a quasi- experimental method with a pretest-posttest design and a three-month follow up. For this purpose, 40 subjects were selected via purposive sampling from the women who referred to psychological clinics. They were randomly divided into two groups of experimental and control. Both groups completed ENRICH Marital Satisfaction Scale (Olson, 1987) for marital satisfaction and Beck Depression Inventory (Beck, 1979) for depression before and after the training (10 sessions, 2 hours each) and also 3 months later. Results of covariance analysis showed a significant increase in overall marital satisfaction at the post test and follow up stage (P<0.002). The findings of this study confirmed the efficacy of acceptance and commitment therapy on overall marital satisfaction among depressed women.
