Prediction mental health based on spiritual intelligence in students

Abstract :

The aim of this study was to predict mental health based on spiritual intelligence among students at the University of Tehran. From the population of University of Tehran students, 131 individuals (43 men and 88 women) were selected using a correlational design and stratified quota sampling. The Spiritual Intelligence Self-Report Inventory (SISRI-24; King, 2008) and the Symptom Checklist-90 (SCL-90; Derogatis et al., 1973) were administered. Multiple regression analyses showed that students’ mental health can be predicted from spiritual intelligence. Findings further indicated that students with higher spiritual intelligence had higher mental health, whereas students with lower spiritual intelligence had lower mental health (α < 0.01 and P < 0.05).
