Abstract :
In order to reduce the increasing challenges of rural settlements, especially in developing countries, tourism development is an option that most scholars agree on. Geotourism is one of the most important subsectors of the tourism industry, one of its main goals is the development of local communities. The Quri Qaleh tourism sample area has always welcomed a significant number of tourists in recent years due to its natural and human attractions. Considering the nature of geotourism, how it affects key dimensions of rural development and identifying factors affecting the development of the impact of geotourism in the Quri Qaleh tourism sample area is the main question of the present study. In terms of methodology, this study is in the descriptive-analytical research group. The statistical population includes all tourism activists, among whom 119 people were selected completely randomly. The main tool for collecting field data is a researcher-made questionnaire, the validity and reliability of which have been examined and confirmed based on the principles of field research. Descriptive and inferential statistics in SPSS software were used to analyze the data. The results of the study showed that the impact of geotourism on the economic dimension of rural development was below average with an average of 2.928, and in the social and environmental dimensions it was above average with an average of 3.31 and 3.337, respectively. The results of the overall impact of geotourism on the local community showed that the average obtained with a value of 3.124 was above average. The results of the final fitted regression model showed that about 28 percent of the variance of the dependent variable was explained by the three variables of active cooperation of residents in the field of tourism (Beta = 0.473), financial support from the government sector (Beta = 0.429), and active cooperation of rural managers with rural residents (Beta = 0.228).
