Abstract :
Globalization of the Economy and the Necessity of Regional Economic Convergence in Iran Case Study: Shanghai Cooperation Organization Abstract The phenomenon of globalization has many effects on the country's political, economic, and cultural indicators, including national sovereignty, economics and commodity circulation, and regionalization and coalition trends. Meanwhile, regionalism is among the new actors in international relations, which has expanded rapidly since the second half of the 20th century and simultaneously with globalization. One of the largest and widest geographical and population zoning in the world is the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, founded in 2001. The present study analyzes globalization and regionalism as one of the options facing Iran in this process, with emphasis on the Shanghai organization. The results of this study show that in the process of globalization, Iran is bound to enter into alliances and regionalism, and in this process, the more serious presence in the Shanghai organization due to its historical background, geographical adjacency, the presence of effective neighbors, and major global powers and markets is essential.
