The analysis of the foreign policy of the Islamic Republic of Iran based on the theory of James Rosenau

Abstract :
Since the foreign policy domain deals whit adjustments of actor’s foreign relations, so it implies differences to domestic policy. That is why many analysts consider the appropriateness of this area of policy as uncertainty. As ninth and tenth governments coming to power, the dominant discourse of Iranian foreign policy shifted from Islamic democratic peace to justice policy. The features of this new discourse included; to question the norms of international discourse, adopting an aggressive approach toward the west and challenging great power politics, revising Iran’s policy based on the priority of expansion the relations with nations and movements. The authors focused on identification of possible causes of this change in the international and internal environment based on the theory of James Roseau. Applying these theories, this article tries to analyze the international operating environment and individual factors (thoughts of Mahmud Ahmadinejad) with this conviction that these factors are more important than other factors (the role of government and society).
