Abstract :
The development of big data in recent years has led to the production of significant science in this regard in reliable international reference databases. The aim of the current study is to analyze thematic clusters and draw a scientific map of published research to identify the current state of research in the field of big data and online education in Scopus. The current research was a quantitative and applied study and scientific methods including co-lexical analysis and network analysis were used. The research community was all the documents that were published in the Scopus citation database in the field of big data and online education, which were reviewed and analyzed. Vosviewer software was used to analyze the data. Scientometric findings showed that until November 25, 2023, the countries of China (700 documents), the United States of America (240 documents) and India (110 documents) respectively had the most scientific documents in the field of big data and education in the Scopus database. Iran was at the lowest level of this ranking with only 8 published documents. Also, the results showed that the clusters of big data, education, online education, teaching, learning systems, artificial intelligence, data mining, machine learning were among the most important clusters in the field of big data and education. Finally, considering that Iran had the fewest published documents in the field of big data and education, it is necessary for researchers to determine research needs and, accordingly, contribute to the development of knowledge in the field of big data and education.
