Abstract :
The purpose of the present study was to investigate the students' academic motivation based on teachers' feedback, considering the mediating role of students' mentality. The study was applied in terms of purpose and descriptive-correlational terms of implementation within the framework of structural equation modeling. The statistical population was 380 people numbers from the female students of the first secondary school of Mashhad, who were selected as a sample by the multi_stage cluster method and using the Morgan's table. Data collection tools was a questionnaire designed by the researcher to assess teacher' feedback based on the model of Butler and Wayne and Farar et al, students' mentality questionnaire from Katamiso and Lu and academic motivation questionnaire from Harter. SPSS and AMOS software were used for data analysis. The results showed that effort-oriented and ability-oriented feedback can investigate academic motivation both directly and by mediating students' mindsets. In addition, the results showed that growth mindset and static mindset were directly related to academic motivation. When teachers see students as hard-working people and give them this attitude in the form of feedback, it affects their mentality, and as a result, by creating a growing mindset about their abilities and feelings, they motivate them more academically.
