Abstract :
In the emergence of rationalism, opposition to it appeared in the Islamic society. In addition to the opposition of Mashrab Hanili, the most important person who opposed the current of rationalism was Abul Hasan Ash'ari. The intellectual foundations of Ash'ari, who himself was a follower of the Mu'tazili rationalism, became the basis for the tendency to return to Salafism; A Salafist who believed that traditionalism should spread in the society. The question is: What is the role of the Ash'ari intellectual foundations in the formation process of the Salafi tradition? The proposed hypothesis, thinking and consequences of the Ash'ari theory were an important factor in the rise and formation of the tradition of Salafism in the Islamic society. The necessity and importance of research is to know the processes involved in this process. The formation of the Ash'ari movement and the Salafi tradition and its consequences. The aim is to know the effect of this trend on the Islamic society. Methodology: historical-descriptive-analytical. The work tool is library study and data collection.
