Meta-analysis of the relationship between transformational leadership and teachers' occupational behaviors in Iranian schools

Abstract :
Introduction: the current research was conducted to quantitatively combine the results of the studies conducted on the relationship between transformational leadership and teachers' occupational behaviors in Iranian schools using a meta-analysis technique.
Research methodology: The statistical population of the research included all the articles published in the Persian language scientific journals about the relationship between transformational leadership and teachers' occupational behaviors from 2009 to 2023, that 40 cases were entered through meta-analysis process with a non-random purposive sampling method.The data collection tool was the meta-analysis coding form. The selected studies were analyzed using CMA2 software.
Findings: The meta-analysis of the selected articles showed that the average effect size of the relationship between transformational leadership and occupational behaviors of teachers in the fixed effect model is (0.405) and in the random effect model is (0.365), which is evaluated as an average relationship based on Cohen's interpretation system. Also, variables of empowerment (0.623), job burnout (-0.561), self-development (0.521), job satisfaction (0.519), and work innovative behaviors (0.505) have the largest effect size.
Conclusion: Based on the obtained results, it seems necessary to use the transformational leadership style and its components to improve the occupational behavior of teachers in Iranian schools.
