The role of cognitive consonance in connection between ethical leadership with teacher's job satisfaction

Abstract :
This research was administered with the purpose of studying the role of cognitive consonance in the relationship between managers moralism with job statisfaction. Research statistical population were the males and females' teachers in some regions of education and training administrations of EsfahanCity. Among them, 532 teachers, were selected via convenience sampling for participating to research. Research instruments consisted of: job satisfaction index (with four subscales named: work satisfaction, wage satisfaction, coworkers satisfaction and supervisor satisfaction), ethical leadership questionnaire and cognitive consonance scale. Data which were gathered from research questionnaires were analyzed, using Pearson's correlation coefficient and hierarchical regression analysis. Finding showed that, cognitive consonance has been moderate, the relationship between ethical leadership with work satisfaction, wage satisfaction and coworkers satisfaction. Posterior analysis revealed that in low cognitive consonance, there is strongest relationship between ethical leadership with work satisfaction, than high cognitive consonance. But there are strongest relationship between ethical leadership with wage satisfaction and coworkers satisfaction than low cognitive consonance.
