Abstract :

The aim of research was to investigate the barriers to promoting women's management level from viewpoints of Shiraz high schools female principals. Statistical population consisted of all Shiraz high schools female principals. Social and cultural barriers were studied. The researche instrument was a researcher–made questionnaire administered to the research population. The obtained data were analyzed through descriptive methods. Results showed that from viewpoints of female principals: 1) cultural barriers had greatest impact among the barriers to promoting women's leadership; 2) Among cultural factors, responsibility played the greatest role, and regarding cultural factors, patriarchal culture played the greatest role as barriers to promoting women's management level.
