Abstract :
The purpose of this study was to explain the couples’ marital satisfaction based on spiritual intelligence and early maladaptive schemas. The statistical population comprised of all married men and women in Saveh, among which 160 were randomly selected. The data was collected through Enrich marital satisfaction questionnaire; self-report measuring of spiritual intelligence and inconsistent Young Schema questionnaire that has been administrated on the subjects. Data were analyzed by using SPSS statistical software and stepwise multivariable regression analysis. The data analysis reveals that both variables, early maladaptive schemas and spiritual intelligence can predict the marital satisfaction (p< 0/01), but the share of spiritual intelligence in forecasting marital satisfaction is higher than early maladaptive schemas. This study represents an integral and decisive role of spiritual intelligence schema in couple’s marital satisfaction. So couple’s satisfaction can be raised to a higher level by the development of the spiritual intelligence and adopting strategies to reduce early maladaptive schemas.
