Developing a Fusion Model for Designing the Organizational Structure of Universities

Abstract :
The main aim of this paper was develop a fusion-model for designing the organizational structure of universities. Concept and components of various models of organizational structure and management of the university show that organizational structure is coordination instrument and can provide requirements for achieving the goals of the University. Maintaining the overall integrity of the university as an organization, facilitating relations between individuals and sectors, creating suitable context for emergence of creativity, collaboration, learning and ultimately adaptation with changes and dynamics of external environment are examples of targets that are expected the university organizational structure provide access to them. Theorists of organization propose a variety of organizational structures. Scholars of higher education who have achieved these aims, propose a variety of university models that organizational structure of them is different and special. Burton Clark (1998) believes that the appropriate organizational structure of this university must have multiple levels, and management must be strengthened at its all levels. In this regard, the results of the showed that team building, network communication, multi-layer organizational structure, multi-core management and intelligence are the main components of this model, and these components affect the flexibility of university.
