The effectiveness of an eclectic education on depression, stress and anxiety

Abstract :

The aim of this study is to investigate the effectiveness of eclectic teaching called empirical consciosness approach on depression, stress, and anxiety. In this research, two separate experimental and control groups have been studied using pretest-posttest technique. 200 subjects have been randomly placed in two separate experimental groups and one control group of 100 subjects. The experimental group has been assigned to receive eclectic teaching while the control group has been put in the wait list. The technique applied in this research consists of depression, anxiety, and stress scale which have been filled up by subjects during pretest and posttest stages. The data have been analyzed by independent t-test method. The results show that depression, stress and anxiety posttest scores of experimental group have declined (P < 0.01). Therefore, the eclectic teaching approach can be effectively applied for reduction of depression, stress, and anxiety symptoms.
