Determining the Proportion of Spiritual Intelligence and Resilience in Explaining University Students’ Life Orientation

Abstract :
The main purpose of this research was to determine the proportion of spiritual intelligence and resilience in explaining university students’ life orientation. The population of the study consisted of students of Islamic Azad University, Roudehen Branch in the academic year of 2011-2012. The sample consisted of 180 subjects which were selected by stratified sampling method. The instruments administered were life orientation (LOT) of Schier and Carver, spiritual intelligence (SQ) of Abdollah zadeh and resilience scale (CD-RISC) of Connor and Davidson. The results showed that spiritual intelligence and resilience variables can predict optimism and pessimism of students’ life orientation variable.
