Abstract :
The purpose of the study was to investigate the efficiency of teaching the skill of stress control through behavioral-cognitive treatment method on decreasing female high school students' depression in Zone 14, Tehran City. The population of the study consisted of all first grade female high school students in Zone 14 in the academic year of 2013-2014. The sample consisted of 36 students chosen by multi stage cluster random sampling as well as simple random sampling. They were randomly assigned ti experimental and control groups. In order to teach the stress control skill, the questionnaire of General Health Questionnaire was used. There were both pretest and posttest in the study. The results of the study showed that teaching stress control skill had a significant effect on the students' level of depression.
