Abstract :
The present study examined the viewpoints of librarians about time management and improving professional performance of libraries in Islamic Azad University, Zone 6. The study was survey type and the methodology was analytical. Required data were gathered through administering a questionnaire rated on six dimensions of the program: work, prioritizing tasks, planning for the reception of visitors, telephone calls, planning, establishing and managing sessions and entrusting. The sample of the study included 70 librarians of IAU branches in Zone 6. The obtained data were analyzed using t test, Pearson Product Correlation, and Friedman test by SPSS software version 1. Four items including planning work schedules, planning for client acceptance, planning and delegating calls were correct and only two options: prioritize tasks and manage the meetings were different. The results of testing the research hypotheses showed that the first hypothesis is less than half the components management. The second hypothesis which stated that there was a significant relationship between time management and the six dimensions (time to plan, prioritize tasks, client acceptance date, time calls, schedule meetings and delegating time) was confirmed.
