The Role of Family Cohesion and Flexibility in Predicting Parental Self-efficacy in Secondary Education Teachers in Yasuj

Abstract :

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the role of family cohesion and flexibility in predicting parental self-efficacy in Yasuj Secondary School Teachers. Methodology: This study was a descriptive-correlational study. The statistical population includes Yasuj Secondary Secondary Education Teachers who were teaching in the academic year 2018-17. Sample size included 150 secondary school teachers who were selected through multistage cluster sampling. Data were collected and analyzed using the Domka and et al (1996), Shakeri Family Flexibility Scale (1999) and Samani Family Cohesion Questionnaire (2002). The reliability of the research instruments was estimated 0.71, 0.77 and 0.81 respectively using Cronbach's alpha coefficients. Data were analyzed using linear regression at the significant level of 0.05. Findings: Based on the findings of Flexibility and Family Cohesion were able to predict parental self-efficacy (P <0.001). Conclusion: Families with good emotional cohesion, given the ability of healthy families in terms of communication skills and appropriate emotional cohesion, have the opportunity to exchange information and as a result, parents of such families are more capable of parenting and raising their children.
