The Study of Some Parameters Affecting the Fuel Consumption of Peugeot 206

Kiumars Daemi Milani 11- Ph.d.student of biosystems engineering, Islamic Azad University, Tehran Science and Research Branch, Tehran, Iran* Corresponding author: q_milani@yahoo.com The effect of various factors on the fuel consumption of a car is very important in terms of economic and environmental issues. Based on this, in this research, the parameters of tire type, tire air pressure, type of air in the tire and type of spark plug on the fuel consumption of the 206 Peugeot car have been investigated. Tests were conducted with five treatments, including type of tire, type of spark plug, amount of tire inflation, forward speed, type of air and each treatment was performed with three repetitions. The type of candle includes two types, normal and needle; The amount of air was considered in three standard air levels and 2 degrees less and more than that. The forward speed was selected at three levels: 85, 95 and 105 km.h-1 and the type of tire air was selected in two types of normal air and nitrogen air. The tests were conducted on a fixed route with a distance of about 50 km. The results of the tests showed that by using the right tires, fuel consumption can be saved by at least 12%. Reducing fuel consumption in case of increasing tire pressure in constant conditions was another result of this research. Fuel consumption with tires containing nitrogen gas was reduced by three percent compared to the car with tires containing air. By changing the type of spark plug from conventional to needle, fuel consumption was reduced.
