Abstract :
The purpose of this study was to investigate the factors that will influence orchardmen intentions and behavior towards water conservation by application of extended theory of planned behavior (ETPB). The sample study were 300 orchardmen from Dashtestan County in Boushehr province that was selected through multi-stage random sampling method. Collecting data in this study was conducted by self-constructed questionnaire. Questionnaire validity was confirmed by the panel of expert and its reliability was approved through pilot study and calculating Cronbach's alpha values.Hierarchical regression analysis showed that attitude variables, subjective norm, self-efficacy and moral norms can predict 67.7% of variances in farmers’ intentions toward water conservation (R2 = 67/7). Moreover,Hierarchical regression, also revealed that intention was only predictor of behavior (R2 = 45/0). In conclusion, the results of this study demonstrated that the ETPB can be used as a conceptual framework for intervention programs aimed at increasing water conservation intention and behavior.
