A comparative study of the confrontation of the myth of Kykaeus and Zeus with the sphere of power (Bolen's typology theory)

Abstract :

Iran and Greece, with a long-standing historical and civilizational background,are full of myths and archetypes whose names and functions are recorded in ancient poems and texts.Thes myths act asour collective refuge.Kikavus and Zeus are two of the myths and archetypes of Iran and Greece that have an important place in the mythological texts of these two civilizations. Therefore,the research seeks to understand the function of Kikavus and Zeus,two famous Iranian and Greek myths,in the field of power and raises the question:What are the differences and similarities in the function of these two myths in the field of power, based on the personality type theory ofJane Shinoda Bolen? The research was conducted using a comparative method and the findingsof the research show that from the perspective of Zeusand Orsi Bolen's personalitytype,Kikavus and Zeus are power-seeking, capable,ambitious and presiding kings.Both fac challenges from rivals during their reign.Unlike Kikavus,Zeus shares powerwith his brothers.Kikavus is an indecisive,short-sighted,autocratic, emotional,ungrateful king,pessimistic about those around him and the elders of Iran, and incapable of understanding the events of the day, and considers power in itself to satisfy his sense of ambition.Although Zeus,unlike Kikavus,is diligent in managing affairs and spreading justice and social order,traces of theOrsiarchetype are evident in his behavior,and increasing violence, fear of humans, and myths such as Prometheus le him to make unwise decisions such as spreading evil in the world and sending a flood to destroyhumanity
