The main issue of tunnelling in urban environment is the prediction of the ground settlements induced by tunnelexcavation, which may cause damage to surface structures. In this paper are used empirical, analytical and threedimensional finite element methods (by ABAQUS program) for the prediction of ground settlements inducedduring tunnel construction using EPB (earth pressure balance) excavation machine in part of the line 3 of Tehransubway. The results indicate that the three-dimensional FEM predicts a more realistic surface settlement value, and settlement profiles from empirical and analytical methods are narrower than numerical one. Moreover, themaximum predicted settlement by three methods is more than its suggested allowable value. Manuscript profile

Dehaj-Sarduiyeh belt is located in south west of Kerman province and is a part of central Iranian volcanosedimentary complex. There are plenty of porphyry mines in the belt. Mineralization in the area is mainlyporphyritic and associated with extension fractures and hydrothermal alteration. The biggest tertiary porphyrydeposits are concentrated in this area. To help exploration of porphyry copper mineralization in vast areas, spatial relationship between 16 copper porphyry mines and fractures in the area, was studied as a case study.Photo lineament was determined using spatial relationship of copper porphyry mines and fractures. As a resultthere is strong relationship between photo lineament factor porphyry copper mine. Manuscript profile

In order to quality assessment of some pollutant industrials in Bandar Abbas, 16 effluent samples were collectedfrom important industrial units. Lead, cadmium, copper, Chromium, Arsenic, Mercury, Vanadium and Nickelwere chosen as representative trace metals whose levels in the environment represent a reliable index ofenvironmental pollution. Some discharged effluents to the environment show V, As and Hg pollution probablyrelated to fossil fuel consumptions. Also, effluents used for irrigation of landscapes indicate high TDS constantand so are unsuitable for this purpose. Manuscript profile

Historical Seismicity in Qom province indicated high activity faults in the area that composes of reverse andstrike slip fault system. This fault has important role in deformation of continental crust and structural style.Paying attention to the strategic position of Qom and nearness to Tehran causes evaluated Seismic activity insouth Qom. In this paper, several faults with potential of activity are recognized through satellite images, fieldtrip and with seismic data. Also, intersect of lineation with NW-SE trend and magnetic malformations with NESW trend are correlated by earthquake focus but this is not mapped in Geologic reports. Therefore the study ofthis seismic power fault is suggested. Manuscript profile

In recent years, fuzzy-logic-based methods have adjusted to spot uncertainty in environmental problems. In thepresent study, a methodology based on Fuzzy Inference Model to assess river water quality is used. The potentialapplication of the fuzzy model has been tested with a case study. Therefore, a data set collected from seventeenstations through the Karoon River from 2008 t0 2009 has been used. The most important parameters areaffecting the river quality of water such as DO, BOD5, NO3-, Cl-, EC has been used. Using Fuzzy InferenceModel, the river water quality classified in three categories; Good, Moderate and Poor. Results showed thatfuzzy inference model is able to indicate water quality variations in different seasons. Therefore, thismethodology develops as a suitable and alternative tool to be used in developing effective water managementplans. Manuscript profile

Biostratigraphic studies in the field of 56 thin sections of limestones Sarvak has beenstudied.Formation of the 11 species of 17 genera were identified based on their fossil, three zones can be biozonszones of the things introduced by Wynd (1965) fits presented.I-Nezzazata - Alveolinids Assemblage Zone # 25 II-Rudist debris # 24 III-"Oligostegina"facies # 26These biozones indicated a Cenomanian age for the Sarvak Formation in the studied section which is composedof pelagic and neretic facies. In the studied section, the Sarvak Formation has a transitional contact with theKazhdumi Formation and i covered by the Ilam Formation di conformable. Microfiche ’ tudy indicatedthat the Sarvak Formation was deposited in open marine, barrier and lagoonal environments. These studiessuggested a carbonate platform of ramp for the formation. Pressure cell is used to measure total stress in soil. There is possibility of the rotation of pressure cell duringthe fill compaction and damage due to traffic passage. So, the pressure cell is located in a pocket which isexcavated in soil. Unsuitable pocket dimension will prevent accurate measurement of pressure cell. In thisstudy a new model is introduced to determine the optimum dimension of the pocket and investigate theeffects of the pressure cell properties and the installation condition on results of this device in earth dam. Atwo dimensional finite different method, FLAC software, was used for this purpose. Results of modelingshowed that the width of each pocket must be about 3 times more than the diameter of the pressure cell andits height is equal to the diameter of installed cell. Manuscript profile
