Abstract :
This article describes the characteristics of the thyme plant in general. Thyme is one of the oldest medicinal plants and spices. Today, this medicinal plant is used to treat many diseases such as colds, sore throats, headaches, muscle cramps, excretion of intestinal parasites, severe coughs, bronchitis, sore throats, gum infections, etc. Thyme leaf is used in food products as well as its essential oil in beverages and pharmaceutical, health and cosmetics industries. Thyme oil has antispasmodic, windbreak, antifungal, antioxidant, antibacterial, disinfectant, anthelmintic, and expectorant, natural food preservative and anti-aging properties for mammals. Thyme essential oil is one of the ten famous essential oils that have a special place in world trade. There is a lot of research on thyme, and every day with the advancement of science, new cases of the properties of this plant for the treatment of patients with various diseases are found, which is certainly commendable.
