Application of Importance-Performance Analysis model in order to evaluate the professional qualifications of professors

Abstract :
The purpose of this study was to examine the professional qualifications of professors and procedures of its promotion in University of Kurdistan. Research was mixed method. In the quantitative survey, a sample size of 374 students, were selected by random sampling. Data collection tools in this section was researcher made questionnaire that measured professors' qualifications in both perceptions and expectations and in the form of three components: cognitive, psychomotor, and affective. In quantitative survey, data analyzed using Confirmatory Factor Analysis and Importance-Performance Analysis. The results indicated that Compared with psychomotor and affective qualifications, professors' performance has been lower in the cognitive qualifications. Furthermore in order to identify procedures improve professional qualifications of professors, a group of 16 experts were selected through purposive sampling method and were studied by Semi-structured interviewing. Content analysis of the interviews showed that the solutions identified in this section, were including: Equipping all classes to intelligent system, Attention to practical activities of students, Attention to professors specializing in offering courses.
