Abstract :

The present study aims to examine the relationship between happiness, self-esteem with social development in elementary schools students of Mashhad in the academic year of 92-93 . In doing so, 400 participants from elementary schools were selected using random sampling. The sample responded to the oxford happiness scale and cooper smith(1987) and Vinland social development scale(1988). Data analysis involved both descriptive and inferential statistics including mean, standard deviation, Pearson's correlation coefficient and regression analysis. Social development showed significant correlation with happiness and self-esteem. Results of multi regression analysis also revealed that overall, happiness and  self-esteem  can predict 0/47 changes of Social development in elementary school students
