  The Fertility Myth is one of the types of myths. In this myth, the god of fertility is the protector of abundance and oversees childbirth, as well as being responsible for agriculture, cultivation, and the benefits and yields of farming. Some myths have preserved themselves in the form of legends to this day. In Azerbaijan, especially in Mugan and Ardabil, there is a legend called "Saray". In this legend, Saray's heart belongs to a young man named “khanchupân’, but the cruel lord of that place falls in love with Saray. To prevent betrayal and infidelity, Saray throws herself from a white horse into the Aras River on her way home near Khan's house and dies. The elements present in this story indicate that Saray may have initially been a goddess who then remained a love story among people over time. In this research, Saray is compared with evidence from Egyptian and Greek samples, as well as with the fertility myth "Arus Guleye" in Gilan province and Rapihwin and Siavash stories.
