Abstract :
Bahmannameh is a martial and heroic epic written by Iranshah bin Abi al-Khair, a poet of the 5th and 6th centuries of Hijri, mentioning the heroic deeds of Bahman Esfandiar and his effort to take revenge on the Zal family after Rostam's death. In this epic poem, Iranshah bin Abi al-Khair has described forty years of Bahman's life and his battle with Rostam's family. In this research, based on the descriptive-analytical method, along with a brief introduction of the poet and the introduction of Bahmannameh, the stylistic coordinates of this work have been investigated. In this epic poem, Abi-ul-Khair tries to introduce Bahman-nameh in a rhythmic and rhyming verbal format and by using poetic devices and literary arrays. The poet used imagery to enrich his poems and thoughts. The noteworthy point is that in the imagery and image creation in the epic poem Bahmannameh, Iranshah bin Abi al-Khair was influenced by Ferdowsi's Shahnameh. The importance of this system is mainly in keeping alive one of the ancient stories of Iran and using Persian words in it. The importance of Bahmannameh is more in terms of Persian language and keeping alive one of the stories of ancient Iran, the source of which is other than Ferdowsi's Shahnameh and other historical books. Examining the literary, linguistic and intellectual levels of this work will undoubtedly make the path of knowing the scientific and literary thinking and procedure of this poet smoother for those interested and researchers.
