Abstract :
Grotesque is a literary school that portrays the anomalies of society in a realistic and at the same time unconventional and extreme way. Any disgusting, sarcastic and at the same time comic work can be considered among grotesque works; In other words, the first feature of Grotsky's work is the intensification of confusion and fear in the mental states of the audience. "Abnormality", "incomprehensibility", "distortion", "humor and fear" are the most prominent features of grotesque text, which can be rooted in the bitter and unpleasant realities in the writer's society. By analyzing and examining the representation of these features in literary texts, one can get a better and more accurate understanding of the society and the hidden anomalous facts in it. Siamak Golshiri, a contemporary Iranian writer, and Davis Grubb, a classic American writer and storyteller, are among the authors who have expressed the challenges and social anomalies of their society with grotesque style in their works. In the present article, qualitative and quantitative methods are used to analyze the performance of grotesque elements in two works, 'axaresh miyan soraqam (1400) by Siamak Golshiri and Shab Shekarchi (1953) by Davis Grab, in different decades in Iran and America. By examining the differences and similarities of the characteristics of these two works, the implicit meanings of these components can also be obtained. Among the results of this article, it can be pointed out that both authors, despite the different time and place, represent common elements such as "horror", "
