Abstract :
Key The present study, with an analytical-comparative approach based on Freud's psychoanalysis in the section on personality structure, examines the spiritual and psychological conflicts of the abnormal male characters in the novels Mis Ahou's Husband, Anna Karenina, and Madame Bovary. These novels are similar in subject, theme, style of expression, and narrative; therefore, the psychoanalysis of the antihero characters in these novels is the main issue of this research. The findings show that the antihero characters (male and abnormal) in all three novels act in a way that is dominated by the id aspect throughout the linear movement of the story until the end, and in order to satisfy the id aspect, they cause psychosis in themselves and those around them, as well as the collapse of the family center. Seyedmiran is slightly different from the other three characters, namely; Leon and Rudolf in the novel Anna Karenina and Vronsky in the novel Madame Bovary. The reason for this difference is that Seyedmiran is married. The theme and subject of all three novels, although they take place in two different spaces of Eastern and Western society, is betrayal and the collapse of the family. Due to the dominance of the institutional aspect, neurotic anxiety and also moral anxiety are observed in the personality structure of these people. Following these anxieties, defense mechanisms are often shown in all four characters.
