Determining the level of logistics system automation in the large assembly industry

Abstract :
To improve the operation level of the companies tailored to industry 4.0, is necessary to determine logistics automation. For this, the first step is the measuring of the evolution stage. For measuring the evolution of the logistics system automation, the processes and components of the logistics system, maturity stages should be determine. The purpose of this paper is to determine the level of automation in the Iranian assembly industry. The research method is descriptive and Data gathering is survey method. The statistical population consisted of the logistics experts group to determine the processes and their levels and limits and also managers in the industry to provide information about the status of logistics processes and component. By utilizing interviews with logistics experts identified four process and ten components. Using the factor analysis, measuring indicators has determined and mean of them were calculated. Evolution of logistics automation was measured by compensation method. Results show that the level of automation in SAIPA Company is higher than other companies. Logistics information system and order planning components have higher stages and transportation have lower stages in all company
