Abstract :
In this study filtration rate of silver carp (Hypophthalmichthys Molitrix) was evaluated on differ densities of algae Senedesmus Quadricauda. 4 treatments (1/1, 2/5, 5 and 8% of body weight) that were cultured in medium of Z-8 with a single species were found with three replications. Experiment was repeated 30 days. The fishes were also weighed at the beginning and end of the experiments. Results showed that filtration rate reduced with increasing algal density and ingestion rate and daily body weight gain increased and feed efficiency reduced. 8% of body weight density is the best algal concentration for fish growth, but the filtration and feed efficiency is the lowest
