Abstract :

Abstract         Any literary work has a sign of social origin in its texture. The social environment in which the work has flourished is reflected in the style and expression of its writer. Shams' collection of lyric poems is one of these works in which Maulana deals with most of the facts, and customs and social conditions. Maulana's poetry is the reflection of his own social life and illustration of realities of his own era, and demonstrates his own individual and social characteristics. The present research is an attempt in analyzing the social character of Maulana in the Shams' lyrics which is a way in understanding the cultural and social problems of the author and it is a useful instrument to talk about his romantic and mystical system of thought. The social dimension of Maulana's characteristics, in the Diwane Shams have been surveyed in two sections: the first one is the social asset and the second one is the sociology of Diwane Shams from which the first dimension had much more impact. We expect this research be a thoroughfare to go to ethical virtues and reject of meanness and humility in the present era.
