Abstract :

Abstract         Greimas is one of the prominent theorists in the field of narratology. In order to evaluate different types of narratives, he offered fixed patterns and made great efforts and established narratology on the basis of Prop morphology. Greimas exceeded the scope of Prop's studies and presented action patterns, narrative chains and semantics square to fit all the narratives. In this study, we aimed to investigate the structure of " The Saam and Bahram " by Fayyaz Lahiji based on the pattern of Greimas to identify actors and pattern of narrative system and also analyze the analytical capability of ' The Saam and Bahram " through the chain of narrative and semantic square of Greimas. The result of this research which has been conducted through descriptive-analytic and bibliotheca method indicated that the story of " The Saam and Bahram " has a full structural and narrative pattern and from the perspective of dual-action activism triple-denominational chains and square semantics can be examined.
