Studying the Elements of Emotion in Ahmad Shamloo's Poetry

Abstract :

Abstract         Emotion is of aesthetic elements and the way the poet deals with the events and phenomena of the existence and also his approach to them. The poet, in an awareness of human stance, is not indifferent to the excitement  and feelings that form his emotions. In reality, emotion is one of the main columns of the poetry such as speculation, rhythm, language which make up the bases of poetry. The deeper the poet's emotional relation with the phenomena and his surrounding world, the more his poetry will be of the emotional value. In Ahmad Shamloo's poetry, the element of emotion has a higher stance. We have tried, in this paper, to study it in his poetry, in a descriptive and analytic way. Using Shafiee Kadkani's classification (individual, social and humanistic selves) we have categorized the types of emotion into individual, social and humanistic way and have studied Shamloo's collection of poetry in the frame of that classification. The present study shows that personal and social emotions were used more in his earlier period of composing poetry from 1330 to 1343 and he has used individualistic and humanistic emotions between ( 1343 – 1344 ) and (1345 – 1379) respectively. That's, the third period of the ghognoos  (phoenix) in the rain of the story of relentlessness, love, hate, hopelessness, anger and chagrin to be mentioned in Shamloo's poetry.
