Abstract :
Abstract Propp, the Russian folklorist, has presented a pattern for the analysis of fairy tales. He believes that it is applicable to the other Indo – European folkloric tales, too. The writers of this paper have decided to analyze " The Salim and Salma's Poetry " by using the morphological theory of Propp which comprises thirty one functions. By recounting those functions and their components we wanted to determine what applications are available and what are not according to Propp's methods. To achieve the accurate results from this study, we analyzed the story by using Propp's method as far as it was possible, by utilizing tables and charts. The dutifulness , extracted linking elements, horizontal – vertical charts and also motion charts of the tale were stated in the form of a formula. Finally tales' characters and overall structure of story were elaborated to the readers.
