Abstract :

Abstract        Present research is to investigate the banquet instruments and ceremonies in the Shahnameh. From this viewpoint – having extended the thematical space of the subject – will deal with the banquet instruments and ceremonies. In accord with the present documentary of this research, its method is descriptive – analytical and is based on the literary studies. The findings of this research show that in the Shahnameh of Ferdowsi which has been narrated about the wars and struggles of the heroes that the readers encounter with the frequency of rites and warfares; secondly, Ferdowsi has created his epical stories by using his art of fights and rites in the best way which are unique among the contemporary poets. The last point is that the music in the banquet is of low frequency comparing with war musical instruments; Anyhow one can see both in every event of the Shahnameh.
