Abstract :

Digital storytelling, as an innovative pedagogical approach, integrates technology and narrative to enhance active learning experiences and social interaction. This study aimed to investigate the impact of digital storytelling conducted in educational cultural centers on the development of participants’ social skills and learning outcomes. A quasi-experimental design with a nonequivalent control group was employed. The statistical population consisted of female participants selected randomly, and a sample of 34 individuals (17 in the experimental group and 17 in the control group) was chosen using a multistage cluster sampling method. Data collection instruments included teacher-constructed descriptive tests and scales measuring learning performance and social participation. The validity of the instruments was confirmed by experts, and their reliability was established with a Cronbach's alpha of 0.85. Data were analyzed using SPSS software through independent t-tests and multivariate analysis of covariance (MANCOVA). Results indicated that digital storytelling significantly improved academic performance (post-test mean: 3.51), social skills, and active learning (post-test mean: 3.88) in the experimental group (p < 0.001), enhancing motivation, engagement, and sustainable learning. The findings suggest that digital storytelling in educational settings, including cultural centers, can serve as an effective strategy for promoting social skills and active learning.
