distinction or similarity?Investigating the cultural and artistic taste change in the age of modern communication media (Case study: citizens of Ahwaz)

Abstract :
Human beings have experienced many changes in their aesthetic tastes and values throughout their lives. For this reason, different approaches have been proposed in the history of thought to explain these changes, which in this research have been referred to sociological opinions.This research has been done with the aim of measuring the cultural and artistic taste of Ahwaz citizens, studying distinc factors affecting it sociologically and investigating similarity of taste in effect virtual social networks. By interviewing the most important indexes related to cultural and artistic taste were identified and then, using the Survey method, citizens of Ahwaz were studied. By testing the research hypothesis, it was found that 7 variables studied, included gender, type of job, ethnicity, educational level, economic capital, cultural capital and socioeconomic class, are factors affect on cultural and artistic tastes of Ahwaz citizens which makes it distinct and it was found that the use of virtual social networks makes similarity in tastes.
