Abstract :
The purpose of this study was to design and test a model of factors influencing political behaviours in the sports industry. The present research is applied in the field of survey method in terms of the purpose of data collection. The statistical population of the survey includes all employees (1498) of the Ministry of Sports and federations. Among them, 705 people were randomly selected as research sample. Data collection was done by distributing the questionnaire. The staff completed the questionnaire of Machiavellism, self-esteem, control centre, job independence, feedback, and variety of skills, relationship with the manager, focus, formalization, and participation in decision making, procedural justice and perception of organizational politics. SPSS version 19 and PLS software were used to analyze the data and to test the hypotheses. The findings showed that the proposed model has good fit with the data. In addition, the role of mediating perceptions of organizational politics and the moderating role of political will was confirmed. In organizations, politics is a fact of life. Those who can not understand political behaviours cannot understand the fact that the organization is a political system. Therefore, organizations have to move towards becoming a politician, and managers in this regard must make the necessary efforts in order to achieve organizational goals.
