Investigating the effect of different toxin binders on growth performance, enzyme activity and intestinal morphology of broilers fed diets contaminated with aflatoxin B1

Abstract :

The present experiment was conducted with the aim of the effect of different toxin binders on growth performance, blood parameters and intestinal histology of broiler chickens fed diets contaminated with aflatoxin B1. To carry out 350 one-day-old male broiler chickens of Cobb 500 strain in a completely randomized design with 7 treatments and 5 replications (each replication containing 10 chickens) was allocated. Experimental treatments include 1) negative control (without aflatoxin), 2) positive control (containing aflatoxin), 3) positive control + ARSI1 binder toxin, 4) positive control + ARSI2 binder toxin, 5) positive control + STB1 binder toxin, 6) control positive + toxin binder STB2 and 7) positive control + toxin binder Mycofix. The growth performance, survival percentage and production index in the positive control had a significant decrease compared to the negative control (P<0.05) and the addition of toxin binders had no significant effect on reducing the negative effects of aflatoxin (P>0.05). The concentration of liver enzymes in diets containing toxin binders had a significant decrease compared to the positive control (P<0.05). Addition of toxin binders could significantly increase the area of ​​ileum villi compared to the positive control (P<0.05). Overall, the results showed that toxin binders containing medicinal plants, especially ARSI1 and ARSI2, were more effective than other toxin binders used in reducing the effects of aflatoxin B1.
